Game Premise

Global warming has finally caught up with man. Most of the world is flooded, so humanity has established themselves within the ocean. You are a neutral communications operator in a remote outpost relaying messages in the conflict over territory between humans and whales. Receive messages and speak them (or another message) into your microphone in order to relay them to the respective sides. Do you relay the messages unchanged or make edits to influence the tide of the war?

The original concept involved making whale sounds into the microphone to try and mimic the messages being sent by the whales.

Created for the Global Game Jam 2018, a 48-hour event to make games with the theme this year being: "Transmission". Whale Breakers is a single player game where the player is a neutral radio operater in the war between whales and humans. Your job is to intercept messages between sides, choosing whether to simply relay messages or make edits to influence the direction of the conflict.
